during tuition with my kid today, she said

tutee: did you get your results back yesterday?

me: no, but i got 2 of them back already.

tutee: did u do well?

me. er ok lah. y?

tutee: cos u were esp chatty yesterday!

then she went on to explain how my sms replies were usually 1-2 sentences, but yesterday the sms-es were like 2 sms-es long. so she tot something good might have happened.

and boy was she right! something did lift my spirits up a bit ytd. and also. i was quite suprised that people could read me like a book. =>

OMG they're here!! haha by some strange twist of fate, my mum's fren's sister's daughter (i think) couldn't make it for this concert, so it ended up with us! 3 tickets in all, 2 for my bro and his gf, and one for me! hahaha even tho i'll be like an ultra bright lightbulb, i dun care! haha it's jeff chang! oldies! hahahahaha so high now. (esp since it's free!) Thanks to aunt annie!!




















And i went for a mini concert by this oboe guy (who's not in the pic). Anyone knows where this is?? anyways. Oboe is really one of the best sounding reed instruments i know of (partly because of nodame cantabile too =P). like a suona, but it sounds so much more 含蓄，腼腆. dynamics are so well controlled, and it sounds so clean. so much cleaner than a suona. hahahahaha i'm like suan-ing the suona but anyways, i'm glad i went for the concert, even though i got the timing wrong and turned up half an hour late.

yay finally we had our humcha lunch for cny! helped out my mum with preparation, and also took photos! so this will just be a photo thingy.

This year's cny has been the most different and probably the most enjoyable one i've had during the recent years.

some traditions were lost, reunion dinner was brought forward, and on cny eve itself we had steamboat. the first ever in my house. also the wasn't any 擂茶on初二, neither was there dinner at an aunt's place, or any cny games.

well i guess it only makes u value these cny gatherings more, and really, as time goes on, it will have to be the younger generation trying to keep things going, if we want any of the remaining stuff to still be there in 5 years, 10 years, or more.

meeting up with my cousins, playing with the baby nieces were of course enjoyable, esp when i don't see them that much nowadays, but what felt more special were the other events, stuff like going back to chinese high and hwachong with sophie, meeting up with the co ppl, k-boxing with cousins, humcha with the mum's friends...

i guess it's relieving to know that i still have something outside medicine, where whatever we talk about has nothing to do with medicine. no talk about medical terms, so oh-so-annoying medicine related jokes, and stuff like that. oh and also where there's more to talk about besides my scandals (i guess that's because we have more stuff to talk about since we dun meet up that mucH)

OH AND I FINISHED 2 JDRAMAS THIS CNY BREAK!! namely nodame cantible (thks to rina) and nobuta wo produce (i guess jinx would know this) jdramas are so so so nice! and thks to nodame, there's suddenly this urge to be in an orchestra, and more strongly, an urge to play the piano again!!

Haven't really updated in a long time, so here's a final update for this year..



dec hols haven't been much fun, esp when the last 2 weeks were supposed to be for mugging.. and what makes it worse is that every thing happens during these 2 weeks!



Let's start with the class gathering. all thank's to xo, i only made it to junny's house at 12midnight. i guess partly because i alighted at the wrong stop and foolishly decided i would be streetwise enough to walk to his house from there. Seriously, when i couldn't even walk from parkway to ecp?!Anyways it was really fun, i finally got a high high from alcohol instead of feeling dreadful and slpy. and i guess u guys had fun laughing at me too!



then it's sebas's christmas party, an annual event that will sadly be ending.. but nevertheless, it was really the highlight of every christmas season i had. really enjoyed the time spent with friends i haven't seen in a long time.



lastly it was kboxing with jingquan and yiwang. it was really the most dreadful (but fun nonetheless) kboxing session i had! 8 long hours of singing spread between 3 ppl. from 7pm to 3am! near the end of it i was cmi le, only yiwang was still full of energy, and he had to pay for that buy treating us to lunch! this is another annual get together that we have. really grateful that they still bother to ask me out!



of cos lastly (really. lastly...) there's mugging in the woodlands lib, sch, cdans country club and warren golf club.going thru everywhere i still prefer wdlands lib. quieter, less pressure and nicer environment. and of cos all the nice memories there.
and to prove the medicine is all ard...































no prize for guess what that is!

ok that's it for this entry. notice i had nothing abt my b'dae. that cos it was spent mugging at swimming. -_- but thanks ppl for the sms-es! didn't reply u guys, so i'll say thanks here (altho i bet more than half of u dun come here anymore). ok b4 my class kills me for being late, have a happy year ahead!

Having absolutely nothing to do and all the time in the world to surf food blogs, i made this for lunch today!! It's curry (egg) udon if you can't tell. well. u probably can't tell at all, and i'll tell u why. It's ALL made from scratch!

Curry's made from whole spices such as cumin, cloves and stuff (no premix!) and udon's made from flour and egg. Curry tasted good, but udon was a tad too chewy. note to self: use normal flour instead of bread flour next time.

















Oh and i was at hougang mall having lunch with my family, when i saw these light decors. and i was like wtf! why would anyone place giant glowing anus-es on the ceiling! right on top of the restaurant tables somemore.

Medicamp 07 终于结束了。

当初感到乏味，有点力不从心的感觉。
但过后，却是有点怀念。

虽然当中有些问题搞得有些不悦，

但还是因为有谈得来的ogls和玩得起的freshies，

让一切变得难忘。

我想，把将近20个人放在一间房子里4天，形影不离是很好的bonding吧。

可能是因为去年没去，所以有点把这次当成自己的迎新会吧。
毕竟，一整年的埋头苦读，下学后回家的生活也许冲淡了对事物的热诚，
已经有好久没有尽情地疯，尽情的笑了。

Oh i had this incredibly strange dream last night.

I was a cadet and was cleaning and sorting utensils in this army camp, when my commander comes and says something about me having a suspicious identity card, and suspects me for murdering the emperor (what emperor???). On the way out this nice lady have me a beaded bracelet as a good luck charm.

Then somehow the scene changes to ancient china while i'm playing the stephen chow character in one of his shows. Ends up the emperor was killed because someone stabbed a stick into his ass and caused his dick to swell and bleed to death. (dun ask me how that happened) And he was holding an 'ornament' in his hand, which i eventually figured out it might be the beaded bracelet the lady gave me. so i threw it away and went on an investigation.

Finally the truth was found out. the emperor was actually still alive, and was trying to poison his eldest son. looks like he wanted to pass his throne to his youngest son instead.

Erm yeah that's it. so much for an update in 1 month and 5 days huh???

remember my post on 简单就是美？and the gorgeous 林佩芬? I decided to follow her footsteps today by exploring some of the less-known places of Singapore and taking beautiful (at least to me) photos!!

And for today it'll be: TUAS BEACH!

(pauses for the "there's a tuas beach?!" thoughts from you guys)

it all started from this article. and so i decided to check out how true the article really is.

so after breakfast i set off, taking 172 to boon lay interchange, and then 182 to tuas south ave 4. Hm.. 182 sounds damn familiar. then i realised why.

So one thinks of Tuas, these few things come to mind.. and expectedly, i saw them all..

But where's the beach? recall from article "...Look for a large, green, mostly treeless field along Tuas South Ave 4."

ok so i found this path.

well. it led me to the back of some factory. -_- but nevertheless, i took nice photos!

then after walking for almost 10mins, i finally found the field. so after crossing it, i came to:

not exactly a beach, but then again, nice photos!

there were ropes and wooden crated strewn on the rocks, i guess they must have been thrown into the sea from the ships and washed onshore, kinda interesting too.

I was then stopped by this drain, and have to make a small detour.

after walking along the rocky coast, it finally came to what i think is the beach the article mentioned.

Kinda disappointing, i thot it would be, like, wider. but it is reclaimed land, so i suppose it'll do.

this part of the beach was lined with casuarina trees, which were tall and huge, not something u would expect to find along the beach.

This particular one has wilted, but i thought it's colour was quite pretty with the greener ones in the background.

one strange thing i found.

people actually lived/ lives here? or maybe it was the shelter of some illegal immigrant. -_-

Further down, the beach lied next to this interesting field.

looks kinda desert-ty, and the orange stems made it look kinda unique too.

ok then i seriously got stuck as the beach was separated by this canal (or large drain if u wanna call it that)

So i went back up.

It's been a long time since i've since such a huge area of the sky, not blocked by skyscrapers and ppl taller than me.

Kinda worried at first as i didn't know how to get back, but found this.

Then it was the end of the trip.

In conclusion, well, the sun was great initially, it didn't smell like ECP (u know the sea saltish smell??), but the ships in the opp shore was quite an eye sore, and it wasn't exactly that clean.

Would i go there again? maybe if i was really really down and need to to go somewhere. =>

ok maybe it's not that long afterall. but there's still lots of photos!

haha i went shoppping today! went to bugis area to check out prices and also checked out bugis street, which i never really explored fully until today. there're some nice clothes there! bought a few shirts too. now eyeing 2 bags and trying to decide which one to buy. hurhurhur... sudden urge of splurging!

while i was there i saw situ-bu! er if u watched firefly's dream u'd know who he is. he was well.. kinda white and thin. but taller than me. (well who isn't?)

enough of the self mockery. guess i'll go for shopping trips somewhere else these holidays! beats being cooped up at home!

Note: anyone knows where to buy nice slippers? like those not too expensive but nice looking ones? =p

on the topic on dreams. i had an even stranger dream last night. i was playing with a baby (can't remember who's when a dog came running by and ate one of his toys. then after a while i realised the dog was choking and i performed what i rmb-ed of the heimlich maneuvre on it. -_-
from what i rmb-ed the dog died. or got sent to the vet.

ok that's all.

went for talentquest,which is a singing compeition organised by science fac. yesterday. tot the solo category was ok, but i kinda liked the original compositions. there was one jazzy eng song which was really nice! but i liked the lyrics for another song. so here goes an excerpt:

here's no. 5 on the weird list! haha i tot of it yesterday while going home from watching talentquest,

5. I like talking long walks at night on my way home, and singing songs from the mp3 player out loud. haha i i musted have walked by 5 bus stops and sung like 3-4 songs b4 stopping to take the bus. weird huh?

these were taken after my class outing yesterday. i loved the 2nd pic! altho the quality was so bad i had to photoshop it b4 more details could be seen. haha serves me right for not bringing my camera out. a 1.3 megapixel nokia cameraphone with no flash can't really do much.

anyways these pretty much covered half of my journey to find a nightrider from marina square. i am such a miser. but it was nice taken a stroll alone along the river, watching couples wasting time away, ppl fishing along the river, malay guys creating a din, homeless guy sleeping on the bench, old people walking ard people's park. i never knew s'pore's night scene was so 'happening'!

seems like caffeine from tea just enough.

I just bought my can of determination. question is, will i drink it???

It's chu er!

all the visitings are over, and all have been fun! reunion dinner started, and we were just eating and watching tv, with some small talk. nothing much then.

chuyi was spent with the paternal side. ooh lotsa goodies! 2 of my cousins just came back from london and rome, and brought back krispy kreme doughnuts! so ex and so nice! haha there were like 12 diff flavours! then godiva chocs came up!! haha it was fun joining the cousins' conversation, esp when i only get to see them once or twice a yr!

then came today. something bad happened but shan't talk abt it. then went to jiuma's house to eat 擂茶. sheesh homemade stuff taste the best! the one at vivo was crap. haha. then continue the talking sessions..

b4 long had to go to maternal side. haha fun was doubled with the babies ard! then my cousins were telling me interesting stuff abt their europe trip once they heard i'm going! haha got me all hyped up!

then went to aunties house in the evening, where we had our annual cny games night! this year's game was thought up by my mum, and it was a load of fun!! haha also had 鸡蛋米酒, another traditional dish in my family. looks like only a few on just know how to enjoy it tho! no mahjong this year tho. haha no time to do it anyways, the babies took most of our time!
